Weekly Unit Spotlight: Harley

This week's unit spotlight shines on the shy, but determined healer Harley! Her description?
A subordinate to the duchess Yerilla, Harley is shy and timid, but sweet. She is in her master Yerilla's debt after she saved her from being executed. Her mastery of negotiations is invaluable, because she is unwavering in her deliberations despite her lack of confidence otherwise. Harley is also physically strong, despite her scrawny appearance.
Harley is the third healer your army picks up, but she sits in a totally new class, Terra Cure. She may struggle to compete with the other healing units in the party, but she has her ups and downs. The ups:
  • Standout durability: Harley is close to Schall in terms of durability, with a 60% HP growth and a 60% defense growth. She won't go down easy.
  • Axe use: Harley can defend herself from the get-go. Schall's offensive ability is hindered by his lower starting magic and poor speed, and Annika can't partake in combat until she's promoted, but Harley holds a good starting strength, as well as a passable strength growth at 35% and a weapon that has high might: axes. With axes, Harley's shortcoming in strength is made up for.
  • Ability to cross all terrain: Harley's class skill lets her go across any form of terrain without a movement drop. While the cleric is restricted like a regular infantry unit and Schall cannot cross mountains due to his mounted status, Harley can cross all terrain without any issues.
  • Staff rank: Harley starts at a C rank with staves, allowing her to use better healing tools.
  • Tender Touch: Harley's personal skill, Tender Touch, heals adjacent allies by 10 HP after she's ended her turn. This gives her a passive healing ability, which is very easy to use, considering that after healing an ally, her turn technically is ended, adding on an extra guaranteed 10 HP)
Her downs:
  • Lower general mov.: Terra Cures have a mov. of 4, so while they are not hindered by terrain, they still have mobility hindrances.
  • Poor resistance and accuracy: Harley's resistance growth sits at 20%, and her base doesn't really make up for it. Her hit rate is also troubling, with a luck at 30% and a skill at 40%, giving her an accuracy struggle, especially considering she uses axes.
  • Difficulty keeping up: Her interesting skills make her a nice choice for a healer, but she struggles to make an impression when your army already has two healers recruited, and her mov. penalty along with her lower magic makes it hard for her to measure up.
If you can look past her initial struggles, Harley's axe usage and her healing passive, along with her class skill and her durability, make her a definite asset.
